‘t Magisch Theatertje is a private organisation (partnership) and has chosen to work as a ‘free agent’, without structural funding, existing with the free market in order to retain and guarantee artistic independency.
In 1996 the ‘home theatre’ opened its doors, after a radical rebuilding of our monumental property. The theatre was not only founded in order to show our own performances, but also intended to offer high-level performances with a unique signature, making use of our international network, adding to the existing cultural programming in South-Limburg and surroundings.
In order to make this possible, we first founded the Stichting Wolk – The Cloud Foundation, which made it possible to realise artistic projects in and around South-Limburg. Being a foundation made it possible to make use of subsidies and other lawful funding.
It is this Cloud Foundation that holds management over the home theatre of ‘t Magisch Theatertje on the Molenweg in Maastricht.
