In 1996 ’t Magisch Theatertje opened the doors of its unique location in Maastricht, The Netherlands.
This Theatre specialises in figure theatre for an adult audience. It was created by Charlotte Puijk-Joolen, Roel Puijk and Henk Boerwinkel. Within its short period of existence it has created a name for itself and it attracts audiences from the region as well as for beyond.
With the founding of ‘t Magisch Theatertje Henk Boerwinkel said good bye to his brilliant international carreer. He has only performed in the Maastricht home theatre, until he stopped performing altogether in 2002.
‘t Magisch Theatertje has performed at festivals in over 35 countries all over the world, such as Pakistan, South Africa, Costa Rica and Bulgaria. It as won many awards for its magical performances.
On its location in Maastricht, ‘t Magisch Theatertje has organised 6 internationl festivals, the “Figure-Theatre-Days”, with leading artists in the field of figure theatre and puppetry, from all over the globe. Since the cooperation with festivals in Belgium and Germany starting 2003, this festival is subtitled ‘European Performing & Visual Arts Festival‘.
The location of ‘t Magisch Theatertje’ in Maastricht can seat between 80 and 100 people. ‘t Magisch Theatertje provides public as well as private performances. The show can be booked for corporate as well as private groups.
Also, Charlotte can be booked to perform shows for adult as well as child audiences on a location of choice.
